Edging THE PLAYERS Stadium Greens

Now that all the collars and approaches on THE PLAYERS Stadium Course have been successfully converted to Celebration Bermudagrass, our agronomic maintenance efforts must increase.  This specific cultivar of Bermudagrass has a very strong and aggressive growth habit which requires a tactical management plan.  One of the most important aspects of this plan requires us to edge the greens one or two times a week throughout the year to keep the Celebration from growing into the greens.  An edger is taken around the green each week at a depth of 1' with the intent of severing any rhizomes or stolons that may be creeping towards the putting surface.  Our new encroachment barrier will also play a major role preventing any contamination in our ultra-dwarf putting greens.
