Today was the grand opening of the new short game practice area on Dye's Valley. The area has been named the Hub due to it's central location to the golf course.
The Hub consists of a 10,000ft putting green and a 4,000ft chipping green. The greens are TifEagle and were sprigged 9 weeks ago. The surrounds were sodded with Celebration bermuda grass that will be maintained at fairway and rough height.
Construction started in March and required extensive excavation to maximize this area. The project shut down during The PLAYERS Championship and started up again at the end of May. The greens have opened one week a head of schedule.
The new chipping green will have 3 pin flags to aim at.
The new putting green will have 9 cups, both greens will be maintained to mimic the speeds of the on course greens.
