Stadium Collars Get Some Attention

Following an aggressive cultural management season on The PLAYERS Stadium greens, the collars which immediately surround the greens needed some minor altering to improve uniformity.  The build up of sand topdressing at the greens edges often times can result in a slight mounding effect at the collar.  While golfers currently can not detect the effect, left unattended it could build up to a play ability issue.  To combat this issue core aerification was done on selected collars on The PLAYERS Stadium, followed immediately by detailed cleaning, applying a deep hand watering, plate compacting, and a two direction mowing.
