The past two months at TPC Sawgrass have seen many thunderstorms that have produced over 20 inches of rain. These storms create surface water runoff that leaves silt in the bunkers which must be removed. Unfortunately removing the silt also gets rid of some of the desirable sand. Along with golfers beating sand out of the bunkers and staff emploees blowing it out through cleanup processes, a sand addition was much needed. Our staff on THE PLAYERS Stadium Course added masonry bunker sand to the larger bunkers with the spinners on the back of the Dakota Turf Tender. Two employees came behind the Dakota to blow sand off grass on bunkers edges. Progators were used to apply sand to the smaller pot bunkers.
