July 6-15 two TPC Sawgrass staff members, Coleman Torgorsen and Kyle Worthy, traveled to TPC Deere Run in Illinois to assist in tournament set-up for The John Deere Classic. During tournament week Coleman removed dew from tees and approaches i the morning, hand raked greenside bunkers, mowed rough and tee grounds, and assisted in water management on greens. Kyle Worthy was delegated the task of checking the moisture
levels on the back-nine greens and hand-watering them in order to maintain
consistent playing conditions.
Working other tournaments around the country
is a valuable experience for our employees because it allows them to see
different styles of golf course management as well as learn things that could
possibly be implemented in our own tournament preparation. A special thanks is extended to Paul Grogan, Tony
Gustafson, Ryan Abbate and the rest of the TPC Deere Run staff for their
hospitality and generosity throughout the week of The John Deere Classic.
