Valley Lake Bank Improvement Work

Lake bank after planting

We've continued lake bank improvement work on Dye's Valley this winter. The overall goal of this work is to create a more attractive appearance, while reducting maintenance inputs. Maintaining turfgrass on the lake banks takes a significant amount of time and resources, from string trimming and flymowing to chemical applications.

The grasses we use in these situations include: cord grass (Spartina bakeri), creeping cord grass (Spartina patens), and crown grass (Paspalum quadrifarium).
