GCSAA Conference

The Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) Conference was held this past week in Orlando, Fl. Professionals of all walks of life in the golf course industry gathered to talk shop in sunny Orange County. The conference started off strong with seminars offered to further education. Along with learning something new, the attendees were able to network with others in their field.

Thursday brought the turf bowl, a test of general turf knowledge for future superintendents. 80 university turf teams squared off hoping to claim the title of top turf school.

The conference concluded with a banquet followed by an awards ceremony where TPC Sawgrass won two prestigious awards. Sawgrass received the TPC Platinum award due to the excellent condition and renovation of the maintenance shop. Also, we received the Environmental Leader in Golf Award (ELGA). These are two nationally recognized awards, and we are honored to have received them.

TPC Sawgrass had a great time in Orlando, and we are looking forward to next year’s GCSAA conference in Las Vegas, Nevada!
