Busy Day Ahead

We were greeted this morning by cement trucks as we opened the maintenance facility. We knew we had a busy day ahead of us. A sod truck rolled in shortly thereafter. A crane will be rolling in around nine a.m.. To brighten our day we were greeted with a beautiful rainbow as the sun rose. John Toth, our administrative assistant, ran out to take a picture of the rainbow so we could post it for everyone's enjoyment.

The cement trucks arrived so we could pour the slab for the new wash pad system. This wash pad incorporates the Florida Department of Environmental Protection best management practices. We probably have one more month of construction before we are finished.

The sod has arrived to finish off some of the projects we have been working on. The tie-ins to the new cartpath on number nine of THE PLAYERS Stadium will be sodded. The new drainage on number two tee of The PLAYERS Stadium will be sodded and finished. The rest of the sod will be moved to Dye's Valley course. Number eighteen will have the new drainage trenches sodded. This will complete the drainage work on eighteen. We have now moved to seventeen fairway and are installing drainage there.

The crane will be used to remove three Washingtonian Palms from the Circle of Champions. The Circle of Champion commemorates past and current champions of THE PLAYERS. The current champion's native country is honored by the flying of that flag. The palms have become too large and are blocking it's visibility.
